Kroger Launches A New Budget-Friendly Line

Inflation has driven up food prices, but America's largest supermarket chain is helping shoppers find savings.

Kroger recently announced the introduction of Smart Way, a 150-product affordable private label.

Brightly coloured signs will make the newly branded goods easier to see and convey to shoppers that they're a fantastic value.

Kroger's 17 private label lines focus on prepared foods, organic items, and gourmet options.

The business is revamping its branding, using Smart Way for non-perishables and Heritage Farms for fresh items and dairy.

The Smart Way label comprises affordable canned products, pickles, soaps, breads, and napkins. Other products are planned in 2022.

"We're convinced Smart Way has something for everyone," says Kroger's VP of Our Brands.

Smart Way's orange-and-white label and taglines "Smart Ways to save every day" are simple to read.

Kroger's senior vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer says customers are attempting to stretch their expenditures in an inflationary economy.

Smart Way is an engaging, eye-pleasing product line that will be easy for customers to identify.

By introducing a streamlined opening price point brand strategy to Our Brands' portfolio, we'll cater to every customer every time.

41% of buyers are buying more store brands than before the epidemic. 77% will continue buying retail brands.

Kroger seems to be trend-conscious. . . ably. In 2022's first quarter, net sales increased 8% year-over-year, totalling $79.24 billion. It's up 9% over last year. They're clever.
